For the last 12 years at the ANU, Philip has lead the development of an integrated health data platform for a range of initiatives including Canberra Clinical Genomics (CCG), Our Health in Our Hands (OHIOH), Phenomics Translation Initiative (PTI), Centre for Personalised Immunology (CPI), Australian Phenome Bank (APB) and Australian Phenomics Facility (APF) with sources funding including NCRIS, MRFF, ACT Health, Genentech and ANU. This same platform was used to support a COVID-19 study undertaken at the ANU to track samples collected from participants in this publication:https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1111/ans.16564Some key platforms include patient databases, genome variation databases, mouse strain database, biological sample tracking, animal colony management databases and interactive visualization tools in shiny. These database solutions rely on other key Australian infrastructure including National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) and the Australian Access Federation (AAF).His computing background includes Java, R, python, SQL, MongoDb, ElasticSearch, Javascript, NodeJS, Grails and Groovy.

Informatics ManagerAustralian Phenomics Facility Oct 2011 - PresentAustralian National UniversityI am the Informatics Manager for the Australian Phenomics Facility situated at the Australian National University. I manage a team of 7 staff that together build the health data platforms driven by a number of research and clinical initiatives with funding by NCRIS, ACT Health and ANU.The Patient database collects clinical, demographic and diagnostic information of human patients along with their family pedigrees, supporting initiatives such as Canberra Clinical Genomics, Phenomics Translation Initiative, Centre for Personlised Immunology and Our Health in Our Hands. The Australian Phenomics Facility is a specialised facility for developing, characterising and archiving mouse models of human disease which relies on our mouse colony database solution called Rodentity. Here we store the breeding activity, track researcher requests, assign genotypes and phenotypes. The Missense Mutation Library (MML) is a large collection of mouse mutations that have been archived as cryopreserved sperm available for any researcher to conduct further studies. The Australian Phenome Bank is a database for the cryopreservation of mouse models of human genetic diseasesThe DNA variant database was built for the Centre for Personalised Immunology and Canberra Clinical Genomics which stores variants from 3135 patients with over 104 million recordsThe Sample storage is an in-house database, responsible for tracking and barcoding samples and linking to their physical locationsThe Enlighten platform, is designed as a solution for data discovery and collection using Shiny technology. Visualisation of experimental data is quick and simple giving researchers deeper insights into their dataI give direction to the team, liaise with stakeholders, hold demonstrations and build project plans. I am also technically very adept with a solid understanding of good architectural design, as well as implementing solutions, software development, conducting security audits and server administration
