As an intern with the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks, I have moved between multiple different departments within the hotel. The internship started with me learning to run the front desk of the hotel, then moving into the restaurant in the hotel, then to banquets in the hotel where I was able to work events for Governor LePage and the Mitchell Institute. Each department has taught me different lessons but an overarching theme at a hotel is that, the guest is always the first priority. The internship has taught me many valuable lessons that I will use for the rest of my life and I am grateful for that. Working at Sable Oaks has allowed me to make connections and become more confident in a professional workplace.
