I am a strategic thinker, who challenges and leads. I have built and developed highly effective teams, through a twenty-year career spanning both the public and private sector. I am hard working and systematic, with extensive experience of producing successful strategies, corporate and business plans. I was part of the senior management team, responsible for driving performance improvement within an award winning Regional Development Agency.Strategy development – I have led the successful development and monitoring of influential economic strategies, covering the West Midlands and the East of England regions. The process involved evidence gathering and analysis to identify strategic priorities; running large-scale consultation processes to test options; and producing and communicating the finally agreed strategy.Developing and implementing monitoring, performance and evaluation frameworks – I led the successful development and implementation of an outcome-focused performance framework at Advantage West Midlands. The framework improved focus, informed investment decisions and helped to increase the returns generated, on average, to over £8 for every £1 invested.Business improvement – I played a crucial strategic role, as part of the senior management team, driving continuous improvement at Advantage West Midlands.
