Since March 2016 I have worked for Chase de Vere under the BMA Services banner as a Business Development Manager. My role as Head of Technical Support (Medical and Dental) involves supporting Financial Consultants in advising Doctors and Dentists. The role involves assisting the Financial Consultant in providing technical advice on the NHS Pension Scheme and building their business through activities within the hospital, GP Surgeries, Dental surgeries and other external events.Prior to this I spent over 20 years in management until at the start of 2015 I reverted back to a Senior Financial Adviser role providing specialist financial advice for hospital doctors of all ages working or retired on the NHS Pension Scheme. Clients often asked: How do I plan for early retirement? How will the 2015 NHS Pension Scheme reforms affect me? What sort of protection product is best for me? Can you assist me in setting up my mortgage? How can I protect my income?I support Financial Consultants to help doctors and dentists plan effectively for retirement and calculate their benefits to see if they may have a Lifetime Allowance or Annual Allowance problem. I also help ensure doctors and dentists are adequately covered for Income Protection so any cover matches the benefits the NHS offer. I also help provide investment/savings advice throughout a doctors and dentists career to assist with school fees planning, and IHT planning as the doctor or dentist approaches the end of their career and into retirement.Having worked in Financial Services for over 20 years I am an expert on the NHS Pensions scheme and the benefits this provides. I am able to support Financial Consultants provide Financial Solutions for doctors and dentists throughout their career and help them start the relationship as early as their years in Medical School through to planning for retirement and into retirement. My knowledge, skill and support function is totally focused on doctors and dentists which means that the advice, services and the products offered are the best fit for this type of customer.
