Joined as Interim Deputy Group Financial Controller to manage the monthly and annual Group accounts process.- Managed the process for producing the Group's monthly management information, including cash flow and related data in respect of monthly management accounts, quarterly re-forecasts, annual budgets and strategic plans.- Liaised liaising closely with the external auditors, ensuring a timely, efficient and transparent external audit process, with no surprises, clean audit opinion and audit recommendations actioned.- Ensured an appropriate financial control framework and effective financial accountability and responsibility across the Group, through management of a large financial controller group, based in the UK and USA.- Ensured compliance with management and statutory reporting requirements and deadlines, and all relevant accounting policies.- Supported the review and preparation of Audit Committee documents.- Oversaw the implementation of new accounting standards, particularly IFRS 9 and IFRS 16, challenging appropriately as required.- Provided technical expertise and guidance across a wide range of matters, ensuring the integrity of results.

- Completed Half Year 2018/19 Group Statutory Accounts, to agreed deadlines, with no handover.- Coached the Financial Accountant to enable her to contribute to the half year process.- Managed the Head Office Management Accounts process (Cognos), including monthly accounts.- Managed the Head Office Budget 2019/20 process (Anaplan).- Recommended a change in the scale of reporting Group’s financial results from £000’s to £m, which was agreed and redrafted the rollforward Annual Financial Statements accordingly.- Responsible for the consolidation and completion of the Group’s Full Year 2018/19 Financial Section of the Annual Report, liaising with Designers and Printers as required.- Ensured IFRS 9 and IFRS 15 accounting and disclosures were compliant and complete, as part of the Full Year 2018/19 process.- Responsible for the collation of IFRS 16 data from the worldwide subsidiaries, ensuring the data was complete and suitable for evaluation in preparation for adoption of IFRS 16 on 1 April 2019. Included managing an interim Excel based solution for evaluating leases, whilst also part of the team responsible for identifying and implementing a permanent solution (Tagetik). - Responsible for acquisition accounting for the Group’s five acquisitions in the year ending 31 March 2019, including liaison with external consultants on the valuation of Intangible Fixed Assets, and agreeing other fair value adjustments.- Prepared Audit Committee Papers as required.- Prepared process notes and made recommendations for improvements of existing processes.- Provided technical advice as required to the Group’s autonomous financial accountants.
