The special committee was established by the board to evaluate the potential acquisition of 21st Century Newspaper Holdings, LLC, which was owned by the majority owner of MNG - and specifically to evaluate whether the potential transaction would be in the best interests of MNG and its stockholders, including non-control (minority) stockholders. As the sole member of the committee I screened and interviewed numerous law firms and investment bankers (financial advisors) and hired the two firms I felt confident would give me good and wise counsel in seeing the potential transaction through to the right conclusion and to ensure that the transaction was fair to all stockholders. Completely restructured the institutional marketing (new business development) department of this multi-product firm along industry and geographical lines and led the team to increase firm assets under management from $3.5 billion to $6.5 billion within two years.

Institutional sales and marketing - derivatives, tactical asset allocation program trading. Covered major plan sponsors nationally, generating millions in trading revenues.

Co-managed and was one of the top producers on the 25 person New York money desk of west coast thrift, American Savings & Loan. Quickly built stable deposit base of $250 million targeting corporate treasurers, pension funds, investment managers and family offices. Also interim crisis managed the Washington DC office after the unexpected departure of the manager.

A diversified hedge fund. Generated first year return of 28% trading cash and futures markets in commodities and financial instruments.

Institutional sales. Completed $15 million transaction with Transamerica Insurance Co. while significantly growing the firm's West coast market share and opening new institutional accounts. Initiated the firm's relationship with the Dreyfus Tax Exempt Bond Fund within six months of launching call program. Grew Dreyfus into one of the firm's largest municipal bond accounts while growing the firm's institutional business in the New York area market.
