We hired a new consultant, revised and streamlined the asset allocation, and hired two new managers. The net result was improvement in the funded status of the DB plan from 63% in December 2012 to 80% in June, 2014.Compensation Committee - MemberSpecial Committee of the Board - sole member: May 2013 to December 2013. The special committee was established by the board to evaluate the potential acquisition of 21st Century Newspaper Holdings, LLC, which was owned by the majority owner of MNG - and specifically to evaluate whether the potential transaction would be in the best interests of MNG and its stockholders, including non-control (minority) stockholders. As the sole member of the committee I screened and interviewed numerous law firms and investment bankers (financial advisors) and hired the two firms I felt confident would give me good and wise counsel in seeing the potential transaction through to the right conclusion and to ensure that the transaction was fair to all stockholders.
