South West Inner City Local Employment Centre (SWIC LEC) operates within the Dublin 8 inner city area. This jobs-focused professionalmediation and guidance service is intended primarily to assist unemployed residents to progress to employment, training or education.Key Duties• To provide jobseeker clients with a career path planning service on a caseload basis.• To assist such clients to identify and source appropriate progression opportunities to address their training and development needs as part of their career path plan.• To enable clients to develop and implement career action plans by making referrals to appropriate progression routes• To ensure the clients expectations are grounded in reality and to challenge client’s unrealistic progression expectations.• Provide appropriate after-placement support for a pre-determined period of time to jobseeker clients placed in jobs.• To maintain and operate a computerized case load management system and to keep up to date with relevant system changes • To produce statistical information and written reports that capture client profile, interventions and placements as required.• Preparation of client CVs and to assist clients in interview preparation.• To network and liaise with all other relevant agencies and professional services who will be able to assist in client referral where necessary. • To keep up to date with labor market developments, including new employment and training schemes, employment incentives for both employers and jobseeker clients.• To actively participate in the LEC outreach schedule and to actively participate in the future planning for the LEC service.• To contribute to strategic development of SWIC LEC with the manager and board.Other duties include Strategic planning, website administration, social media management, network administration duties and course design and delivery

FIT’s mission is to promote an inclusive Smart Economy by creating a fast track to marketable technical skills for those at risk of long term unemployment. It is the primary industry skills development initiative facilitating collaboration with government, education and training providers in disadvantaged communities to enable greater access to employment for marginalised job seekers. My role as a Training & Employment Officer is to oversee the vocational/skills training, career development and workshop mentoring of FIT students in Further Education Colleges in Dublin and Wicklow and to provide career guidance supports to students of the Digital Media Institute on a one to one basis . As the first point of contact for FIT students, it is my role to deliver employability training to students to ensure they are industry-ready upon completion of their course.
