I founded MAD! to reshape our relationship to Earth.MAD! focuses on helping stewards of the Earth transition and thrive in regenerative agriculture. MAD! is inspired by the Mad Farmer poems of Wendell Berry Mad Farmer, which call humanity to a radical reimagination and reworking of economy based on love, reciprocity, ecological principles, natural systems, place-based wisdom and community values.MAD! is family of 3 organizations: Mad Agriculture (non-profit), Mad Capital and Mad Markets. These organizations share the same mission, virtues and brand. Otherwise, they are free to grow, capitalize, discover product-market fit as their teams see fit. I serve on the board of all three. Mad Agriculture 501c3 was started 6 years ago to accelerate the regenerative revolution in agriculture. The non-profit does the charitable stuff: boots-on-the-ground assistance with land and business planning/action, storytelling, movement building, research and education. Mad Capital PBC is focused on financing the revolution by providing new loan products that are tailor-fit for the needs of regenerative organic farmers. Mad Markets PBC connects farmers to values-aligned buyers by owning and operating strategic assets (i.e. mills, processors) that bring regenerative organic supply to market. In addition to MAD! I'm a husband and proud father of 4 wild kids. I absolutely love to surf waves of water and snow. I love adventure and ecological exploration. I also play in the band Hinterland with Skiv Borealis, which explores the other-worlds of self and cultural becoming, ecological grief, the mingling of light and dark, and joy and challenge of the ride.
