The Smart Farms project is a Stirlings to Coast Farmers initiative that introduces a wide range of technology, sensors and digital tools into Agriculture, with the ultimate aim to improve and advance farming operations towards decision agriculture. Three demonstration sites have been established within the Albany Port Zone, covering a range of enterprise types from feed lotting and stud operations, to mixed crop/livestock operations and 100% dedicated grains/oilseed productions. Satellite sites have been developed in conjunction with the three demonstration farms, to create a wider, connected region.Some of my role currently includes: - AgTech & IoT design, installation & on-farm implementation- WiFi & Radio [LPWAN] network design & management- Investigation & research into current IoT devices available that will positively contribute to on-farm decision making.- Design, installation & implementation of these technologies in real farming businesses, and road-testing current equipment.- Creation of training, print and electronic media for information dissemination to growers within the region.- Manage project funding, milestones and reporting requirements of relevant funders.

As Director of Environmental & Cropping Technologies Australia, some of my current responsibilities include:- Strategic Business Development in line with current customer requirements.- Provision of quality agronomic PA data to growers and consultants.- Creation of "Precision Ag Action/Implementation Plans" for existing clients, targeted to clients on-farm requirements.- Creation of Variable Rate (VR) Prescription maps.- Enterprise analysis for the improvement of on-farm productivity.- Processing, Visualisation and Manipulation of any GIS or PA data.- Full paddock boundary and elevation mapping.- GreenSeeker Biomass Mapping & Soil Sampling services.- Contract Sales & Support agents for AgriTrack.- AgTech Installations, Support & Servicing.- Customised Point to Point & Point to Multi-Point WiFi solutions in regional locations.

Shubin Holdings Pty Ltd is a family operated business that supports Agricultural clients throughout the south-eastern region of Western Australia for over 20 years.In 2016, I was brought in as director to the company, with the opportunity to help expand our current operations and improve our brand awareness. This led to the formation of Environmental & Cropping Technologies Australia - A company specialised in providing agronomic support and precision agriculture data processing services throughout Australia. Throughout my time at Shubin Holdings Pty Ltd since late 2007, I have been involved in:- Improving our brand awareness.- Service marketing.- Creation of client support packages.- Precision agriculture data processing services.- Farm support operations.

Working directly under the founder/CEO throughout the 2016 seeding programme, I was set out to improve brand awareness and promote the AgriTrack logistics management system to the agricultural industries. This role has continued at a sales & support level managed directly under Environmental & Cropping Technologies Australia as Australia's sole contracted sales & support provider.My role included:- Managing leads from generation/creation all the way through to purchase contract and after-sales support.- Coordinated extensive travelling to farms throughout the Western Australian Wheatbelt.- General troubleshooting.- Compliance with AgriTracks CRM reporting and all internal & external sales processes.- Maintaining the predetermines sales revenue and cost of sales margins.- Customer Service & After-sales technical support

-Assist with all varietal trial work throughout South Australia, including the harvesting, cleaning & recording trial data of new varietal seed samples. -Assist breeders in roguing of trial plots before harvesting to ensure 'like' characteristics occur.

Working under the team leaders, I was responsible for the answering of phone calls within a call-centre environment; personally managing them or transferring them to other departments when required. Phone calls received through the Viterra & Glencore Grain Service Centre included:- Grain Marketing (daily pricing, pricing & marketing options).- Storage & Handling Enquiries (warehouse tonnages, storage costs, grain transfers to Viterra/other grain companies).- Contracts (grain contracting).- Payment & general enquiries.- Customer relations & dispute resolution.

Grid Operator/Out loading:• Ensure truck is delivering the correct commodity (visually and on the ticket).• Liaison with Central Control Room (CCR) regarding commodity type and location and cell storage.• Outload into trucks in a safe manner, ensuring that they are not overloaded.• Check for contaminants (pickled grains, mouldy grain, foreign grain, fertiliser, rocks).• Undergo risk assessments and wear appropriate PPE where required.• Ensure the work area is kept clean to food standardsTripper Operation:• Check that grain will be going to the correct storage cell.• Liaison with Central Control Room (CCR) in regards to remaining cell heights.• Ensure that the work area is kept clean, including grain distributors.• Use/wear appropriate PPE for potential phosphine gas areas (Phosphine detectors & half-mask respirator)Cleaning:• Ensure that all shipping areas/floors are clean from dust/contaminants and meet Quarantine standards.• Perform isolation's (lock-outs) when working near conveyor belts and motors that could be started up.• Record cleaning in the cleaning logbook.

Working under a casual basis over the Summer months (December- March), I undertook soil sampling and liquid fertiliser production within the Esperance Region.Soil Sampling:• Site-Specific soil coring at designated areas using Biomass data• Recording and analysing site information regarding soil types, gravel percentage, previous crop, and estimating organic matter levels. • Daily vehicle checks for maintenance purposes. Liquid Fertilizer Production:• Follow Guidelines regarding the safe handling of Dangerous Goods such as Ammonium Nitrate.• Keep the Liquids Plant Clean to minimise potential workplace injuries.• Produce Liquid Fertilizer using correct procedures to minimise injuries.• Load Liquid Fertilizer Trucks Efficiently to ensure they are not overweight.

Working on a casual basis for Precision Agronomics Australia, I performed Electro-Magnetic (EM) Induction & Gamma Radiometric data collection throughout the Western Australian agricultural regions. Often working away from home, high levels of professionalism were required, especially in creating new sales leads for work and explaining the potential benefits of implementing precision agriculture. Other job requirements include site-specific soil sampling for data verification and necessary daily vehicle maintenance checks.
