About Philip Hughes

Throughout my career in intercollegiate athletics, my passion and commitment for connecting with students and impacting the way in which they view themselves, their education, and the world has remained steadfast. Over the last 37 years, I have built programs and constructed services that inspire and secure academic priority, performance, and productivity by student-athletes. My story is one of developing effective academic resources and successful student support structures at multiple NCAA Division I institutions: Tulane University, University of Michigan (1991-98), Kansas State University, and now a second tour at U of M (2009-present). My record is one of unshakeable integrity in the face of challenging expectations and unparalleled academic achievement by the athletes served by my programs. Most recently, this success is reflected in Michigan's national recognition for its NCAA graduation rates and its NCAA scores for academic eligibilty and retention of its student-athletes (aka NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) reports).

Listed skills include Higher Education, Student Affairs, Admissions, Athletics, and 9 others.
