I was trained in Cremona. My first job led me to Wilhelm Geigenbau in Switzerland, I worked in maintenance repair and sound adjustment. Thereafter I worked fife years for Florian Leonhard in London. During these years my concentration has moved from restoration to the making of copies of fine old instruments with the occasional making of a missing scroll or table for some fine instrument.Just before setting up my own workshop, I spent two more years working on a partner level with Mark Wilhelm in Switzerland gaining more of his expertise in sound adjustment. Since October 2013 I have set up my own company IHLE VIOLINS in a spacious workshop in central London building high end violins and making spare parts for fine old violins.
