When looking at my experience you might not think of what I do as creative, but that's not how I feel about my work. Web Development to me is creative problem solving, while at the same time it's about using emerging technologies and tools to communicating with your audience. In my career so far I’ve often had to switch between both front-end and back-end development. This has allowed me to immerse myself in many different aspects of the numerous technologies and languages that are involved and has given me a unique perspective when it comes to developing projects for the web. I am fortunate to have been working in this way and because of this experience it allows me to think about the whole picture. I consider not only the look and feel for an application but also about its performance and structure. As a colleague of mine once said, “each website tells a story, so it’s important to think about what type of story you want to tell”.Whether it is working in Television News, Animation Production, Advertising and Academia I have had the opportunity to work in creative environments and collaborate with others to help them use web technology to build sites and interactive tools for a wide audience. If you are looking for more than just a web programmer and want someone who is passionate about reaching an audience, fun to be around, and experienced in both the creative and the technological aspects of web development, then feel free to reach out to me.Fun Facts About Me: My favorite band is “The Beastie Boys”. I’m good under pressure. I collect vintage comics books. I have a fondness for old skateboarding videos. I enjoy challenging myself.

Software Engineer Ii / Front End DeveloperThermo Fisher Scientific Apr 2017 - Dec 2019Waltham, Ma, UsI'm currently working as an Engineer focused on the large effort to decouple and rebuild the front end for the company's SaaS based system, "Platform for Science".While working there I've been heavily involved in developing new UI Components using a stack that includes React JS, PostCSS and Kendo UI along with a custom build Rest API based on the OData spec.As part of that effort I helped introduced Storybook JS as a workspace for development, testing (using Jest) and documentation so that eventually our components can be shared with other teams building UI components.More recently I've moved into another effort to create microfrontends (a concept similar to microservices) where we develop small pieces of the UI as bundle standalone pieces of the UI using Typescript, Express and NodeJS that are then ported to Containers inside of a Kubernetes cluster. -
