Having maintained and worked with WeatherWatch on-the-side since 2013, I originally ensured the ageing Drupal site was up and running, implemented a newer look and feel, and developed the original mobile app. The recent ability to work full-time has meant I could: - Create an annual digital roadmap outlining goals and tasks for the business - Develop a private API suite using Lambda and API Gateway on AWS - Rebuild the mobile app using React Native - Conduct a full UX review and redesign of the WeatherWatch website working alongside talented creatives - Rebuild from scratch the new WeatherWatch website using React with a custom forecast management system as WordPress plug-ins - Develop automated custom-branded weather data maps using Grads - Rebuild from scratch the new RuralWeather website using React - Develop a web widgets platform to allow WeatherWatch graphs and data to be embedded into any websiteThere are more features and technologies planned ahead that are ready for me to tackle and help innovate the weather sector of New Zealand.

I worked as lead developer of many content managed websites created in Drupal, e-commerce solutions developed in Magento, as well as producing mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using both Titanium and PhoneGap. This included liaising with the client regarding requirements, the development of custom modules, and support and training of the client to use the systems provided.

Initially I was the primary website developer and systems administrator, but quickly grew to be project manager looking after clients and leading a small team of developers and designers as the company increased in size. Development was done in PHP, customising in-house content management websites and e-commerce systems to clients’ requirements. For systems administration I would give support to any e-mail or website problems as well as providing maintenance on the company’s Linux and Windows servers. As project manager I would run the weekly team meetings, set work goals and targets for the team, liaise with the client, and guide the direction and process of development to be followed. I attended meetings alongside the Director with potential clients to help give a technical analysis of business requirements. If required I would provide training to clients on using the CMS and e-commerce systems.

I was the primary website and software developer working alongside a team of IT service people providing IT services to local government, schools and businesses. I worked closely with the Business Manager attending meetings with potential clients to understand and analyse business requirements. I was responsible for creating the potential clients’ cost estimates. I was also required to do customer service for the shop as well as computer servicing at the office and at places of business.
