Founder of RELEASE an organisation that exists to empower adult prisoners and ex-offenders to break the cycle of offending and reoffending.Release is focused on the rehabilitation of people trapped by addictions and the reintegration of persons with convictions into society following imprisonment.Our Approach:We Relate through visiting and mentoring those in prison, listening to their individual needs, andfostering long-term relationships that extend beyond the service user’s sentence. We Restore by offering Restorative Justice, Restorative Skills, and Communication Skills courses in prisons. The curriculum emphasises the recognition of various addictions, taking responsibility for one’s own actions, and taking steps to repair the damage done to all who have been harmed by criminal offendingand provides steps and support to make positive behaviour change. We help to Reintegrate, joining arms with a network of partner organisations to provide comprehensive mentoring, peer mentoring, job training and placement, community support, family re-mediationand counselling services upon release from prison.See www.release.ie
