  • Chargepoint
    Senior Hardware Test Engineer
    Chargepoint Feb 2022 - Feb 2024
    Campbell, Ca, Us
Designing, Assembly, Programming and Commissioning of test fixtures for use in manufacturing facilities for ChargePoint’s AC EVSE products. Multiple Test fixtures would be required per product line, including Bed of Nail testers for testing PCBAs pre-conformal coating, through to system testers that take a finished product and perform a complete functional test before being packaged for shipping from the contract manufacturers.Involvement would start at the product design phase to ensure that the test coverage requirements were captured by the product team, including schematic and PCB design reviews, to check Design for Manufacture as well as Design for Test.Test fixture design included my designing and building custom PCBs and cable harnesses for interfacing between the product and the test application running on a Linux desktop. This hardware abstraction layer needs to emulate a DNO supply (Single and Three Phase), an attached Electric Vehicle or EV charging Cable depending on the specific requirements, to ensure operation under normal conditions and to be able to inject faults into the system and measure several perimeters during normal and abnormal operation.I also led a hardware project to build a device that could emulate a vehicle and a cable, inject faults into the system, and measure several parameters during normal and abnormal operations. I am passionate about delivering high-quality and reliable hardware products that meet the needs and expectations of the customers and the industry.Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards; Including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU; and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
