Heading the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department with direct report to CEO I am taking responsibility for 12 FTE in Vienna plus (in the function of General Counsel Sberbank Europe) functional steering of local legal departments in the subsidiary banks with another 60 lawyers and non-legal staff. The Legal Team provides advice on national and international level in Banking & Finance matters, cross-boarder Corporate/M&A as well as on Regulatory Issues. In addition, we cover corporate housekeeping and general legal advice (e.g. Data Protection). Another main area is litigation handling and steering in (international) litigation and arbitration matters. I am further acting as company secretary for management and supervisory board affairs. Sberbank Europe AG is the headquarters of a banking group that is present in 8 markets in Europe. In total, the bank operates almost over 200 branches and has over 4,000 employees. SBAG belongs to Sberbank of Russia group which is one of the most profitable financial institutions in the world.

As Head of Corporate & Board Affairs, I am within Legal Department of Sberbank Europe AG responsible for a broad range of legal matters. I head and manage a team that is responsible for handling and rendering expert legal advice on corporate law issues such as M&A transactions and corporate restructurings, corporate governance and board affairs matters. I am further responsible for and cover with my team general legal matters of the company such as legal contracts and agreements of all sort and nature (national and multi-jurisdictional) and handle arbitral, civil and administrative proceedings. The Unit currently comprises of four people (2 lawyers and 2 board affairs specialists).
