Dr. Philipp Nellessen is as a board member of LEAG responsible for the production (power generation and mining) and for the subsidiaries GMB, MCR engineering, Sero Lausitz and TSS Logistics. LEAG is one of the major German electricity producers and currently busy in a major transformation towards "green" energies.Before joining LEAG Philipp was as the CEO responsible for thyssenkrupp Industrial Solution business in Africa and lived in Johannesburg. Prior to becoming CEO and relocating to South Africa, Philipp led the Transformation Office of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions. He started his time at Thyssenkrupp in 2014 as Head of Strategy & Organization for Components Technology. Before joining thyssenkrupp, Philipp started his career as a tunneling engineer. He spent almost 10 years as consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Philipp holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ruhr University in Bochum and a PhD in Mechanized Shield Tunneling also from Ruhr University, he has been awarded the “Gert Massenbergpreis” for his PhD and the “Förderpreis der Forschungsgesellschaft Konstruktiver Ingenieurbau.”
