During my previous work I have been working both as part of a team and as an individual. This combination gave me the responsibility of running and managing my own test campaigns and be part of a bigger international group integrating and testing space hardware. The handling of space hardware includes working with highly sensitive surfaces and detectors which have to be integrated with great accuracy, requiring very thorough work. During my work as a PhD student colleges came and asked me for input in regards to the instrument I have been working with and the handling of the systems, valuing my opinion and knowledge in this area. As a researcher I participated and presented in international conferences and team meetings to build up my professional network. Outreach activities like tours through the working environment for the general public or the supervision or lecturing of students are also included in my work tasks.

PEP is part of the European Space Agencies (ESA) JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE), which will be launched in 2023. JDC is an ion mass spectrometer capable of measuring positive and negative ions as well as electrons within an energy range of a few electron Volts up to several kilo electron volts.
