I am an accredited Arts Award adviser, trainer and moderator, with 12 years experience in the development and delivery of the Arts Award and other portfolio based qualifications, such as The Project and Personal and Social Development qualifications.Arts Award is a qualification at 5 levels for young people up to the age of 25, managed by Trinity College London.

I supported Life in London UK to gain independent school status, and supported the organisation through two Ofsted visits and other QA visits. I advised on the development of a curriculum that can engage and ensure progression for vulnerable and excluded learners, and that satisfies Ofsted requirements. I ensured that all policies were up to date and advised on implementation, developing procedures that enabled staff to undertake their commitment to the students in the most professional and humane manner possible. I ensured that the personal and social progress of young people was recorded and reported regularly alongside academic progress, and advised on the recruitment and performance of new education staff and mentors at the school. I supported the drafting of referrals to social services and other support agencies in consultation with parents and students where appropriate. I also taught drama, deliver the Arts Award qualification and covered teacher absence for English and maths GCSE and functional skills lessonsI worked 2 days a week, as a freelance consultant for a school that was owned as a business by the principal, and was not able to influence practices that occurred in my absence.

As the dance tutor on the arts programme for trainee teachers I plan and deliver courses on primary school dance curriculum content and pedagogy. I focus on 'dance as art' and dance as a creative movement experience, behaviour management and inclusion; and teaching strategies for for those with little dance experience.
