The Australian Dental Council (ADC) is the independent accreditation authority that has been assigned the accreditation functions for the dental profession by the Dental Board of Australia under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme. I provide leadership direction on policy development and implementation to ensure regulatory processes are efficient and effective. I manage the accreditation of programs leading to a registerable qualification for the dental profession and I provide leadership direction on the development of research across all functions of the ADC with particular focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of statutory roles.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Education I was responsible for providing surgical education, leadership, and services across nine surgical specialties within Australia and New Zealand. The scope of my role was varied and included education policy and governance, surgical standards, education and training programs and assessment. I was also responsible for evaluating the training, qualifications, and experience of a Specialist International Medical Graduate for comparability with an Australian or New Zealand trained surgeon.

Lead the strategic development, continuous improvement, and delivery of education programs for Ambulance Victoria’s operational workforce of more than 4500 Advanced Life Support, Mobile Intensive Care and Flight paramedics. My team was responsible for successfully planning, implementing, and delivering targeted, evidence-based education programs that aligned to Ambulance Victoria’s strategic and operational plan to ensure paramedics had the clinical and operational skills to provide pre-hospital patient care.

Develop and deliver emergency medicine clinical education programs to facilitate the professional and clinical development of university graduates into Advanced Life Support(ALS) paramedics.

Nepal

Developed and delivered health professional training programs and public health education materials on cancer prevention and early detection. Coordinated and improved Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine programs and cervical and breast cancer screening and prevention programs in Nepal. Advocated for National cancer prevention strategies, generated guidelines and protocols for deliverable services in Nepal.

Carlton

Developed and delivered educational programs and resources using a variety of methods for general practitioners and general practice nurses on cancer prevention and early detection within a key set of competency standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Nursing Australia.

Managed the Victorian Cooperative Oncology Group (VCOG) committees by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with the 600 honorary committee members (key cancer specialists from across Victoria) and managing all associated tasks including; overseeing and coordinating committee meetings, coordinating seminars, workshops and conferences and producing and distributing committee newsletters.
