Whirligig Productions was born out of the Whirligig VR video player created for use with Oculus and Vive headsets.Whirligig is a VR video player for playing back a large range of Video projection formats from original flat screen to 360 degree footage. It's primary goal is to offer as many projection options and features as possible for both leisure and production.I created Whirligig from scratch as a way to preview fulldome 360 degree films as I am heavly involved in fulldome production in my NSC Creative job. At the time that I started working on it there was nothing around like it so without the tools already in place I set out to make it myself.Since then it has become my main source of income and I continue to develop it 4 years on from it's initial release.

Although my role at NSC Creative is CG Artist my actual expertise varies greatly. I would best be describe as a problem solver so I've worked a great deal in scripting in 3DS Max and made application for the Oculus Rift for production including scripts to make the process of 3D visulisation and VR and 3D dome as easy as possible. I've had a significant role in building and managing our render farm ( containing over 50 nodes and growing fast). I've also work heavily in production using my scripting and pflow experience to create galaxies, landscapes, star explitions and ground discruction.Basically if there is a task without a clearly defined pass to a solution I will be the first to look at it.
