As a graduate with Samworth Brothers, I undertook four rotations over two years to gain experience in a number of roles around the business.My first placement was a Planner at Walkers Sausage Co. This involved working on the implication of a freeze plan for many Christmas products. This was instrumental in the most successful Christmas the company had to date.My second role was at Saladworks an Environmental Champion. This role is to monitor and identify improvements in utility usage and waste around the site.My third role was at supply chain in the transport planning department. I took on a support role, assisting the planners in any task that required assistance. My final role was working on engineering projects in Samworth group as a whole. This involved looking at automation projects to streamline food manufacturing.

My role involves the running of the union nightclub at night time. This includes the set-up transition from it's daytime layout as a cafe and social area into an open space with night time lighting and then the efficient running of the night. I ensure student staff are able to work effectively and maintain excellent standards of service and professionalism for up to 4,000 student customers in the UK's largest students' union.- Support full-time Duty and Venue Managers- Work closely with security teams to ensure health and safety of staff and customers- Lead and manage a team of over 120 student venue staff - Monitor all money in the building with regular safe checks, counting cash, and by assessing till variance- Assist in the hiring process of new staff through application reviews and interviewing

Elected chairman of the students tenpin bowling club. Within this role I run committee meetings to ensure the club is progressing and have had to make big decisions about the future of the club. The club was facing difficulties with low membership numbers but to improve this heading towards next year, the structure of the club has been changed to target a more social side and creating a cheaper membership to appeal to more students. The club is also proving successful in competitions this year with the men's team winning gold at the British University Tenpin Bowling Association (BUTBA) Championships and a few individual podium positions, including myself in second for individual ladies.

My industrial placement year at university was based at Abbott Risk Consulting Ltd. This gave me a good deal of experience in an office setting. Experiences included:- Compiling walkdown reports and the subsequent engineering substantiation reports for a nuclear power station. - Scribed for hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) for the Oil & Gas sector- Quality Assurance of an online database system.

As Bar Supervisor I was responsible for a team of up to 20 staff at one of the busiest students' unions in the country. This involved remaining calm and in control during busy and potentially stressful situations, whilst ensuring staff are carrying out their duties correctly. Other responsibilities included:- Bar service including customer service and stock rotation- Food service at private events- Front door entry service- Customer complaints- Motivating and supporting bar staff team- Training new members of staff with general bar duties and till softwareThrough this job I have received counter terrorism awareness training called Project Griffin, as well as my Emergency First Aid at Work and Personal Licence certificates.
