I am passionate about my work and believe that everyone has the capacity to change and the right to be given the opportunity to do so. As Clinical Lead and Senior Therapist for Wrexham Action for Children's RAP Service, I was responsible for the practice management of a specialist therapeutic provision offering services to LAC and adopted children and their carers across two counties in North Wales. I had a key role in the development of this service and it's expansion to cover two counties. This service primarily uses a DDP approach to build connections with children, carers and other key adults in children's lives to stabilise placements and promote life chances for these children and young people. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES• Provision of therapeutic services for LAC and adopted children to address developmental trauma, attachment issues, loss and change, self regulation and behavioural issues.• Provision of support to foster carers, residential staff and education professionals to stabilise and support placements.• Dyadic work with children and carers to promote healthy attachments and co-regulation.• Liaison with key professionals.• Supervision of eight staff working across three separate projects providing therapeutic support to children and families.• Use of database to collate statistical information, monitor outcomes and produce reports for funding partners regarding performance of the three projects.• Promote the use of clinically evidenced interventions and appropriate evaluation tools to monitor outcomes.• Attend Steering Group and other strategic meetings to monitor service effectiveness and develop the services in accordance with the wishes of funding partners. • Provide educative input to residential staff to support and enhance therapeutic care provided to children in residential care.• Attend and contribute to case specific multi-disciplinary meetings including Child Protection conferences, Core Groups, Child in Need meetings and LAC Reviews.• Promote equality of access to therapeutic services provided.

This service provided "Phase 2" on-going intensive therapeutic support to children and adults who had completed "Phase 1" of the IFSS (Integrated Family Support Service) for children and families where one, or both parents had drug or alcohol misuse issues. The aim of this "Phase 2" service was to consolidate change and address specific issues identified in Phase 1 of the work as requiring specialist therapeutic intervention. Interventions provided were based on the IFSS model and involved Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy. As the lead practitioner in this innovative pilot project, I was responsible for the development of the Project and the supervision of my two colleagues.
