M has a rare chromosome disorder, affecting independence, language, speech, gross and fine motor skills. M makes use of a "talking book" made up of over 2000 symbols and iPad software "proloquotogo." M's speech is evolving every day.Responsible for working with recommendations of SaLT, OT and Physiotherapist.

A specialist nanny, I supported a young person with an acquired brain injury and complex secondary medical and learning needs.In December 2014 I helped to facilitate her transition from Boston Children's Hospital to Great Ormond Street and then on to The Children's Trust for intensive therapies. Subsequent to rehab, I supported placement movements across acute/intensive, inpatient, home and palliative settings. A challenging but life changing position.

Residential Support Worker (bank hours)Brantwood Specialist School is situated in Nether Edge and provides daytime only or residential school placements to children and young people aged 7-19.Brantwood support children and young people whose complex special educational needs or learning disabilities cannot be met elsewhere. Brantwood Specialist School offers the opportunity for children with special needs to learn and grow within a holistic, inclusive educational framework. The practical, hands-on activities are underpinned by the content and assessment criteria of the National Curriculum and supported by individual therapies. Brantwood believe that education is about developing the whole person - by meeting their physical, emotional, spiritual, social, academic and learning needs. (RMET, 2011).

Working (42hrs/week + O/T) in a residential school for children with severe and complex learning differences.Responsible for liaising with children's multidisciplinary team: SaLT, OT, parents, social worker, etc as well as maintaining IEP targets, access to the curriculum and communication folders (PECS).
