I grew up in the bustling city of Hong Kong as a science lover, through-and-through. I've been taken to the other side of the world and back in pursuit of my passions; to studying Animal Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada, then skipping back over the Pacific Ocean to specialize in Cancer Biology and Therapy at the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom. I have acquired numerous practical laboratory skills, including cell culturing and passaging, HPLC analysis, TUNEL assays, data analysis (including a few statistical analysis skills!), and microscope handling. I have written a systematic review to provide valuable insights about which novel nanocarrier drug delivery systems are most ideal for treating preclinical models of breast cancer brain metastasis, and what changes could be made to experimental designs to better assess the efficacy of these systems.I've found that after spending so much time in the research world, I love working with data and finding out what insights we can find from them! I have recently completed data science and data analyst courses conducted by IBM and Google, respectively. This has given me valuable experience working with programming languages like Python, R, and SQL for processing, analyzing, and visualizing data. My career interests focus on garnering relevant work in laboratory experience surrounding cancer, other medical fields, data analyst roles to enhance my skills for working with data as much as I can. I hope to become a full-fledged data analyst focusing on the healthcare industry in the near future.
