This role involved working within the QPS Recruit Selection area of the Psychological Assessment Unit (PAU) and included the following responsibilities:• Conduct psychological selection assessments, including psychometric testing [administering, interpreting and analysing the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI), NEO-PI-3, K10, AUDIT, and PCL-C), clinical interviewing, and report writing, to determine psychological suitability and risk of individuals applying for General Duties Police Officer recruit roles.• Provide advice, guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding the psychological suitability of recruit applicants for appointment to general duties policing positions, and the ongoing psychological health and suitability of employees working in high-risk roles.• Refer psychologically vulnerable employees to specialised mental health practitioners for follow-up diagnostic assessments and/or treatment, as required.• Contribute to the ongoing review of psychological assessment processes and practices, and recommend continuous improvement strategies relating to selection and employee health screening standards.• Conduct research aimed at identifying psychological characteristics of highly successful versus unsuccessful police officers, temporal changes in employee well-being over time, and best-practice strategies for enhancing psychological resilience among employees working in high-risk roles.

This role involved working within the Community Care Unit (CCU), Coorparoo, which was a mental health rehabilitation facility that has 20 self-contained units and a shared communal area. It is a facility for adults with severe and enduring mental illness who are in recovery and require additional support and life skills to successfully transition to independent living in the community. The service aims to promote an individual's recovery from mental illness by providing opportunities that maximise their strengths and potential. The multidisciplinary clinical team supports residents to increase their capacity and confidence to function within the community.The role included but was not limited to the following responsibilities:- Delivering high quality evidenced based psychology assessment and clinical services to patients/consumers within a highly functioning multidisciplinary team.- Contribution to the advancement of quality psychology services and optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.- Participating in and assisting with the development of relevant quality and research initiatives in conjunction with the staff.

This role involved working as a mental health clinician within the outpatient community mental health continuing care unit at Woolloongabba (part of the PA Hospital) for adults with chronic, severe and complex mental illness , who experience moderate to severe impairment in functioning and have difficulty accessing and maintaining psychosocial support. This was a mental health clinician role that included but was not limited to the following responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team:- provide diagnosis, treatment plans, case summaries and other required forms to maintain a case within the clinic- conduct mental health and risk assessment- provide psychotherapy - perform case coordination, care management, and rehabilitative services - provide psychoeducation, information, support, consultations and referrals- provide support for carers and/or families- liaise with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in an advocacy capacity for patients/consumers

This role primarily involved vocational assessment and rehabilitation for adults who were unemployed and had psychosocial barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. The role included but was not limited to the following responsibilities:- conduct job capacity assessments- conduct vocational assessment and careers counselling that focused on client's strengths, personality, interests, skills and aptitude- provide psychological assessment and goal-oriented interventions (e.g., motivational interviewing, brief solution focused therapy) to overcome psychosocial challenges to employment- Facilitate group wellbeing programs

This role involved working as a psychologist with adults who had a disability with high support needs (e.g., Level 3 autism, intellectual disability), under the former Disability Services Queensland (DSQ). The role included but was not limited to the following responsibilities:- assisted in developing interventions, functional behaviour assessments and positive behaviour support plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective environment for clients and their support workers- develop interventions that assist in improving communication, social skills, emotional regulation, reducing and/or managing challenging behaviours of concern, and managing any risks to the clients and/or support workers - provide psychoeducation, consultation, training and supervision for support workers when implementing the positive behaviour support plan- assess, record, monitor and evaluate the progress of positive behaviour support plans
