Museums Worcestershire is a joint local authority service between Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council. It is governed by the Joint Museums Committee of councillors representing both organisations.I lead the museums service for the two partner authorities, with five teams of operational, curatorial and management staff. Our total budget is £1.2 million, made up of contributions from both authorities, earned income and project grants.My priority is to lead a service that is interested in and curious about its audience and makes a difference towards their needs, passions and wellbeing.

The Museum of Royal Worcester underwent a million pound refurbishment to redisplay its world-class collection and develop its audiences.With the support of the museum's small team and trustees, our network of experts and ex-workers, HSD exhibition designers and Studio Savidge graphic design, the museum was transformed with new layers of high-quality interpretation and with new storage facilities.

I oversaw a Collections Team with more than 100 years of curatorial experience, two collections totalling over a million objects and a programme of exhibitions, displays, projects and information at four sites across Worcestershire. My own curatorial expertise is in fine and decorative art.Most recently, I led a significant capital development project "It Happened Here" at The Commandery, rejuvenating this historic site to increase its audience, its economic potential and its future resilience.

Meadow Arts is an Arts Council England national portfolio organisation, bringing contemporary art to unexpected places.I was proud to support the Meadow team through a period of transition, gaining ACE NPO funding, and growing the board and staff, all the while creating astonishing exhibitions.

I led the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery collections team through growth and development, bringing in funding from Renaissance West Midlands, DCMS's Designation Challenge Fund and the Wolfson Foundation to kickstart gallery improvements and develop partnerships with local and national organisations.I was most proud of the NESTA-funded Talking to the Animals project, which investigated how museums can help parents and health professionals to tackle speech development delay in very young children. Stoke-on-Trent has a particularly high number of children starting school without the necessary speech skills.
