I took some much-needed time off after leaving my last job to spend with my family. When determining how to spend our time, the kids asked me to build them a treehouse. I have always been hands-on and love a new challenge, so I bought a plan from Nelson Treehouse and Supply, consulted with their lead engineer, and the family hoisted our first beam in late July 2019. We outsourced only the electrical and aluminum roof. The year-long endeavor had us working through a serious bout of pneumonia, an early winter, and well, a pandemic.
