As a co-founder of Taly Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing children with equal access to quality early childhood education, I am applying my operational experience and analytical spirit to position Taly as the leading influence on quality early childhood education, intent on establishing a model that can be replicated nationwide. I took some much-needed time off after leaving my last job to spend with my family. When determining how to spend our time, the kids asked me to build them a treehouse. I have always been hands-on and love a new challenge, so I bought a plan from Nelson Treehouse and Supply, consulted with their lead engineer, and the family hoisted our first beam in late July 2019. We outsourced only the electrical and aluminum roof. The year-long endeavor had us working through a serious bout of pneumonia, an early winter, and well, a pandemic. The latter led to a temporary change in careers (for 64 days) and a venture into homeschooling. I now have a newfound appreciation for what our teachers do everyday. Teaching two grades side-by-side, playing tech support for kids and teachers alike on simultaneous zooms, managing differing assignments with dissimilar deadlines, learning "new math", and overseeing projects across a disjointed team with differing executive functioning skills felt as close to corporate as I felt in a year.As with all jobs, I learned a lot in this role. * I still love to learn new things and be hands-on.* I still love to problem-solve, regardless of the field.* I can PM a large project with the best of them. * Crisis-management is one of my strong suits (home-schooling 8 and 10 year olds)

They built and operate the world’s first unified platform for global rail distribution, connecting passenger rail carriers to both online and offline travel distributors.. The Co-founder and COO of SilverRail, Will Philipson, recruited me to join SilverRail weeks after I left Google.As SilverRail’s CIO, I focused on accelerating the company’s progress towards objectives while managing risk to the business. With direct responsibility for information technology and computer systems, software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery, customer service, and data protection, my team impacts all parts of the business. As a member of the senior executive team, I worked hard to challenge our assumptions and make timely decisions to build effective strategy and improve our competitiveness.

I consulted for the co-founders and CTO of SilverRail Technologies on a part-time basis with two objectives: first to assess operational readiness to support substantial scaling of the business (scope: technology, process, and people); and secondly to run an executive search and recruit a Chief Information Officer. After putting forward my top four candidates for the role of CIO and completing my objectives, the co-founders asked me to consider taking the position.
