About Philippe Beaulieu Brossard

I am leading the design, innovation and strategy-making informed curriculum for both the National Security Programme for senior leaders and the Joint Command and Staff Programme (mid-level managers) at Canadian Forces College. This focus includes leading, developing and organizing DS/CF 575 Strategic Thinking and the Formulation of National Strategies and co-leading DS 521 Leading Operational Art and Design. I also have the privilege of contributing to the leadership, development and organization of 9 exercises including foresight and design related exercises every academic year. As the Co-Executive President of the Archipelago of Design, a non-profit supporting the leading independent network on design, innovation and reflexive thinking in security and defence organisations, I translate the intent and ideas of the community into concrete strategy and actions.

    I am the co-founder and co-president of the Archipelago of Design (AOD) empowering national security leaders in changing mental models to better address complex situations. I consider myself to be the steward of the present and future of AOD. In this role, I translate the orientation of the guild council (Board of Directors) into a cohesive strategy and actions anticipating possible futures. I lead a dedicated team of 7 employees, manage a global community, lead the AOD network division and co-lead the AOD Research & Development division. The latter includes leading AOD Game Studios developing transformative games aimed at unlocking the innovative potential of defence & security professionals across NATO members and partners.
