Aquatics and marine water scientist that consistently managed multiple concurring environmental projects with strict deadlines and competing priorities. Worked on several large Canadian EIAs during the past decade, most notably in the mining sector. Main expertise has primarily been in the aquatics and marine portfolios, but also contributed to several other disciplines such as wildlife, geography and geochemistry. Key Responsibilities• Responsible for dozens of effluent discharge modelling studies using optimized diffuser design for regulatory approval, in freshwater and marine settings.• Conducted oil spill modelling scenarios into aquatic environments using Lagrangian models of advection/diffusion coupled to fluid dynamics.• Developed 3D hydrodynamic models of several coastal locations and freshwater lakes, which included using predicted or measured groundwater flow configurations, in situ physical forcings (riverine inputs, winds, bathymetry, tides, etc.), and sedimentary characteristics of the modelled area.• Completed extensive oceanographic and limnologic characterization studies for several projects, which included analysing months of water column data profiles and several moored instruments.• Performed complex aquatic multi-instrument analysis (CTD, ADCP, etc.) and used rigorous statistical methods and numerical modelling techniques to quantify error bounds to generate metocean data reports.• Used extensive probabilistic sensitivity analysis scenarios on models to verify the response of physical systems to measured climactic variability and physical inputs.• Proficient in completing detailed work scopes, parsing workloads between different specialists and assessing budget requirements for specific project tasks.• Communicating sensitive results to clients and dealing with information requests issued from federal and provincial regulators.• Participated in numerous fieldwork expeditions in often challenging conditions.

Key Projects:Environment Canada – Port Hardy, Port Hardy Airport and Alert Bay, BC Marine Water Quality Assessment. • Completed an oceanographic characterization study for all three outfall locations in the Queen Charlotte Strait. Implemented the use of a 3D hydrodynamic numerical model to estimate the currents and stratification at each outfall location in order to assess the effluent dispersion.SaskWater – Zelma Reservoir Oxygen Modelling• Developed a 3D hydrodynamic model of the reservoir flow structure which included a bottom water diffusion mechanic to calculate the oxygen distribution through time.
