As Global Head of Ortho R&D and Innovation at Straumann Group, I am an experienced leader in managing cross-functional teams along entire R&D lifecycles and projects. Having joined Straumann as an additive manufacturing manager in 2016, I am currently responsible for orchestrating R&D and Innovation activities for ClearCorrect. This entails scoping out and developing early-stage technologies, developing new aligner product features in line with international medical device regulations, and driving external research collaborations with academic and clinical partners to further boost the performance of ClearCorrect aligner systems. Recently, my team’s work led to the development of new additions such as bite ramps and cut-outs. Posterior bite ramps, advanced engagers and variable trimlines are among the other features being explored by my team of specialists. In addition to leading R&D activities with ClearCorrect, I strive to build a collaborative innovation community across all of Straumann’s orthodontic brands. I have over 10 years of experience in the medtech space. During this time, I gathered rich insights on innovation and development processes and how they can be conducted effectively in highly regulated environments. Because of this, I know there is a huge growth opportunity in this area in terms of innovation and technological advancements.I am deeply passionate about the science behind modern aligner solutions. My overall goal is to leverage science to help ClearCorrect emerge as a leading brand in the field and an aligner provider of choice for orthodontists and general practitioners around the globe.
