Winner of the 2018 Singlehanded Transpacific Yach Race: I campaigned on Double Espresso, on Olson 30.2. My dream is to sail solo non-stop around the world, going West, and departing from San Francisco. This is a major undertaking requiring enormous preparation in numerous areas. This is also an attempt at breaking the solo non-stop westward circumnavigation (40 feet and under boats). Sailing solo offshore engages all physical, mental, and financial energy/capacity. For my first attempt, I departed on September 30th, 2020. As is often the case for long-distance offshore sailing, I suffered enough setbacks that after 2 weeks I decided to turn around and sail another 3 weeks to make it back home, with tons of additional experience, and "lessons learned". I am now preparing for a second attempt (timeline as of now undefined).
