Project:1) Development of an enantioselective synthesis of unnatural -amino acids of pharmacological interest (p-methylphenylglycine and 1-naphthylglycine) using a complex of s-BuLi and (-)-sparteine. 2) Mechanistic studies on the synthesis of phenylglycine by asymmetric deprotonation and carboxylation of N-BOC-N-silyl protected benzylamine.
