My primary interests fit into the two broad categories of business and software:I am a generalist in all aspects of business with a particular interest towards interdynamics. The topic I find most interesting is wrt organizational decision making across four dimensions:- Vertical (through hierarchies or other structures);- Horizontal (across divisions or logical groupings of job functions);- Temporal (through corporate narratives and decision sequencing); and- Contextual (across stakeholders, society, financial realities, etc).I have a meta-interest in governance and how boards succeed (or, uh, have "room for improvement" at succeeding) in steering their organizations across the four dimensions. My pet theory is that it's essentially impossible to think in 4d which leads to (at best) 3d thinking (similar to how thinking about 4d spacetime is so hard). To cope with that difficulty we rely on metaphor (think Gareth Morgan here) for better or worse results.---I am a specialist in web based software. From the back to the front, I have particular experience with SQL & CQL database design, queuing protocols (AMQP), service design and implementation in Go/Node, and frontend development in JS (esp. React as a primary framework). Deployment (primarily) via k8s on (typically) GCP. Most of these aspects I consider necessary evils towards......my favorite aspect of web dev, which is by far the design of data tools - custom charts and graphic development for niche data.
