Coordinator, Press Event Support
Current- Coordinate and oversee comprehensive and seamless services, including media coverage, for a wide range of events held in various location within the parliamentary precinct;- Provide leadership in the designing or monitoring the technical, administrative and protocol requirements;- Promote and monitor collaboration between Assistants, Press Events Support and operating crews from television broadcasters;- Actively participate in the planning and coordination of major events under the leadership of the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery;- Investigate and accredit journalists, broadcasters, cameraman, sound technician, producers and other members and enforces security and control access to any parliamentary/government function/event with authority to refuse access to individuals including Ministers or MPs to events while at the same time respecting their authority;- Manage, supervise, mentor, coach, train, develop, motivate and ecaluate the work performed by the administrative assistants;- Oversee and coordinate the effective recording, broadcasting and archiving of all media events;- Ensure guidelines and protocols for use of the press venues are respected;- Monitor access to press venues;- Work closely with all presenters including greeting, briefing and actively managing time and access in order to ensure fair, transparent and equitable treatment of all users in accordance with the guidelines and protocols for use of the press venues;- Recommend and authorize improvements to the Press Gallery Secretariat systems, tools and processes; - Provide advice to the manager;- Work under stressful situation with little to no time;- Coordinate and monitor the movements of the Press Gallery at media events including expediting progress through check points, rotating the pool and ensuring all members receive the access and coverage required; - Work closely with Member of Parliament, Ministers, Prime Minister and other federal organization for their events.
