Philippe Romieu is responsible for leading the commercial strategy of SOCOMEC and managing the Sales & Service organization of over 1200 people. For over 30 years, Mr. Romieu has worked in the energy industry spending a majority of his time in the employ of Alstom in Europe with a strong international and commercial focus. His deep engineering background, energy domain expertise, leadership qualities and goal orientation have served Mr. Romieu well in becoming a senior sales executive in some of the most competitive energy markets in the world.Mr. Romieu started his career at VINCI Energies as a sales and project engineer. In 1990, he joined Alstom Grid (then known as GEC Alsthom T&D) as an export sales engineer and moved quickly up the ranks of the organization gaining valuable experience in not only sales, but also service, project management and people management. Prior to being Vice President for Alstom in Europe, he was based in Washington D.C. and responsible for Alstom Grid’s North American sales force of over 100 people in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He implemented a new Sales organization and achieved a +40% Order Intake growth at 500 million euro. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Romieu was also responsible for Alstom Grid’s Southern Europe and Africa region which consisted of a commercial organization of over 600 people and an order intake of over one billion euros. His extensive tenure includes implementing key account programs and transverse sales initiatives, reorganization of sales structures and redefining sales strategies.Mr. Romieu was born in France and received his Electrical and Mechanical Engineering degrees from the Ecole nationale d’ingenieurs de Brest (ENIB) in France’s Brittany region.
