▸ As student representative in the study programme committee for civil engineering, I assist fellow students with having their voice heard and share experiences to the committee.

▸ Poutrix is the technical student association for Civil Engineers at Ghent University. Our aim is to bridge the abstract and theoretical courses and the construction industry. To this end visits to building sites, company visits, lectures and participation of congresses and study days are organized. As PR responsible, I maintain the relations with the partners and organize different types of events, such as construction visits, company visits and lectures.

▸ After an application procedure, the Happold Foundation offered me a scholarship. This scholarship included an 8-week internship at the office of Buro Happold in Manchester. I had the pleasure to join the office as structure intern and joined thus the structural engineering team of 14 people. ▸ As intern site manager civil engineering at the department Maritime Infrastructure of the Port of Antwerp, I got a broad range of tasks, such as controlling the implementation on the sites, attending site meetings, checking proposals and contract documents. The concerned work was mainly focused on building and renovating quay walls.
