At Avex I looked after the exterior cleaning needs of the client airline, where I as part of a team used dry wash technologies to clean the exterior of the aircraft. As part of my duties was to train new employee's how to safely work around the aircraft and on the procedures that we must follow. When the Lead hand was at the other location and the other lead hand was not on I was responsible for getting the crew to work and communicating with the clients staff. I was also responsible for making sure the work we did was complete and that none of the material was left on the aircraft.

Toronto Reference Library

At the Toronto Reference Library I sorted and re-shelved the books using the Dewey decimal system. I also assisted library patrons in finding the materials that they needed or recovered materials from the stacks that stored the additional materials that were not in the open collections. I also performed other tasks like re labeling books and stamping them when required.This placement was through the Youth Succeeding with Employment Program/Workplace Experience Program.

I was responsible for the cleaning and packing of computer equipment for shipment to bell employees, Unpacking and inventorying the returns from the Bell Canada offices in Ontario relating to computer equipment. I also helped prepare special orders for "computers for schools". I also kept track of the supplies that I used in the clean and pack process as well as trained new employee's in both data entry and clean and pack. I also tracked down missing items in the warehouse from laptop computers to printers and servers.

Mississagua

At Mother Parkers, I checked orders that were picked by others, Picked customer orders using a Reach truck, Counter Balance or the order picker. I also performed restocks on items when they were required.

My main responsibility was to pick orders for customers initially using paper pick lists, I then helped out with the integration of the RF picking system after we ran into problems in getting custom components out in a timely manner. I suggested that at each custom area close the work orders so that they can be released to the pick system, this helped get the special orders out relatively fast as they were backing up in each area. This was accomplished within three weeks getting us back on track with the orders with the custom made parts. I also worked on putting together part kits for clients that had special kit requirements when it was required.

I started out as a order picker but was moved to the inventory control team soon after I started. Some of the duties I performed were shelving returns both defective and still good. I helped load and unload shipments that arrived as well as picked and shipped rush orders. As part of my duties I used the Dock Stocker, Reach truck, Walkies and the Order Picker sometimes in very confined spaces. I handled very delicate items on a routine basis from GE medical items to Sun Servers. One of my idea's was implemented so that the shippers could find the pallets that their orders were on quickly saving time.

I stared out operating the New Britain Multi-spindle automatic machine lathes then moved on to the finishing department where I performed second operations on parts that were made on the New Britain's and Davenports. In both departments I used a variety of Measuring tools to ensure that the parts met the quality standards. I was tasked with helping one of the other operators to clean and pack delicate parts as they came off the machine and were inspected.

This was a Contract position that saw me perform major service checks on the companies fleet of Beech 1900 aircraft, as well as trouble shooting technical issues on the aircraft. I looked after the tires rebuilding as well as the tasks that no one wanted like maintaining the Lavatories on the aircraft. In the course of my duties I looked up how to complete the tasks and what parts were required. I also made a gauge to help determine when the brakes needed replacement.

At Canadian Tire my duties were to assist the customer in finding the item that they needed in a timely manner or order the item in for them via the Canadian tire order system or by one of our special order Dealers. I was routinely called over by the service department when they had a question after the service center closed or they had a question on if we carried the item and on where to get that part. Occasionally a customer would come in looking for a very rare part for the vehicle, I would see if I could find the part in our system or if I could order it for them through Canadian Tire's Depot, If I couldn't I would call the dealer to see if they would have the part in stock, or recommend another source for them to procure the part.
