I am an innovative educator committed to equity and am passionate about history and connecting with growing minds. I have taught AP Social Studies curriculum for over ten years, have served as an AP reader in repeated years and have a strong background in educational leadership and curriculum design. My students from all learning and social backgrounds engage deeply with content and do well on high-stakes exams. Through projects, debates, guided writing practice and metacognitive reflection activities they develop confidence in their critical thinking and structured writing in a collaborative and safe learning environment. In my classroom, with my colleagues and in my own reflective approach to teaching, I foster a growth mindset. I lead by example and in close collaboration with colleagues, continuously improving assessments, implementation of instructional best practices and vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
