Every year the Schmiede opens its doors to 200 people that applied to participate with their projects. For 10 days an old Salt Refinery with over 3000m2 of space in the countryside of Austria becomes the breeding ground of ideas, projects and collaboration. Founded in 2002 the Schmiede has grown to be a networking hub for people in the digital art/media.

Maptales is a location based tracking and broadcasting platform with emphasis on real life experiences in sport, travel & sight seeing. Trips can be tracked, uploaded and shared online. The idea was a bit ahead of its time, as the iPhone wasn't out yet and doing this over Nokia phones was difficult, and therefore discontinuedMobile apps from Maptales help.
