A Masters degree in Politics and International Relations; with solid advocacy experience at the United Nations, EU and UK Parliament, along with a wide network base in the UK and international NGO sector.I was born and raised in India and moved to the UK in 1998. I have also lived and worked in The Netherlands and South Africa. Head Of Advocacy And Public Policy
CIJR is the advocacy and public policy branch of Youth With A Mission – England. YWAM England holds special consultative with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. CIJR serves as the bridge for facilitating grassroots development practitioners in YWAM to engage policy experts and decision-makers at the United Nations for purpose of advancing the human rights and justice for all. My role in CIJR involved the following: Engaging in advocacy on global justice issues (MDGs, HIV/AIDS, Anti-trafficking); lobbying bureaucrats at the United Nations on specific human rights issues; undertaking detailed policy research, engaging in strategic communication, networking with other NGOs (Eg: Tearfund, CARE, Stop the trafik) to form strategic advocacy coalitions; and leadership development of staff and management of CIJR’s international work. During my time as head of advocacy, I researched and successfully completed the submission of YWAM England’s United Nations Quadrennial Review in 2007. CIJR was also part of a advocacy campaign to end the practice of infanticide in Brazil, which resulted in legislation passed in the Brazilian Congress outlawing the practice. CIJR also hosted a major event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The primary aim of BIRI was to seek reconciliation between Britain and India for the historical sins of colonialism. This included several trips to India engaging with church leaders and other faith leaders. This work was primary about engaging in people-to-people dialogue and grass-roots reconciliation work.

I was involved in staffing and leading two 3 months schools: A) Foundations in Intercultural Studies School (FIS) - School Leader & Tutor Gave several lectures on globalization, reconciliation and inter-cultural communication. During my time as staff with the UofN, I worked as an academic trainer in four different countries (India, Netherlands, South Africa and UK) in three continents. My work also involved curriculum development for UofN courses and being an academic mentor to international students.
