As a portfolio analyst for the Overlay Services group at Russell Investments I predominately worked with OTC (over the counter) derivatives. These included total return swaps, variance swaps, swaptions, credit default swaps, and option strategies. My involvement with these trades included booking the trades, valuation, settlements, and calculating performance. Most of the clients I worked with were multi-billion dollar pension plans that required an immense attention to detail.

As a trading analyst for Russell Investments I worked with the team Overlay Services, a part of Russell Implementation Services (RIS). This group specialized in derivative overlays forcorporate pension and public pension plans. Some of my main duties included booking futures trades, reviewing the daily exposures of accounts, reconciliation of trades and accounts, cash management, and account setups.

As an intern my main project was to assist the Overlay Services group with the implementation of a new portfolio accounting system with Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH). This was the teams first independent accounting record provider. My job was to convert our trading accounts onto this system by reconciling any deviations and closely following all the activity within the accounts on a day to day basis. I also assisted in ad-hoc requests from the trading analysts, and portfolio managers.

Some of my extracurricular activities included playing in the concert band and playing music occasionally for some of the theater productions.
