He provides advisory, strategy consulting, recruiting, and fractional COO services to accomplish this.As the COO of Popshop Live, Philip helped build the company from an idea to a Series A stage, ultimately preparing it for acquisition. In this role, he had full P&L ownership and oversaw all operations. During his tenure, Popshop Live raised over $26 million from investors including Benchmark, Floodgate, and Long Journey. Under his leadership, the company developed a successful live shopping product, built a thriving community of sellers and buyers, and scaled the team to 100 employees.Before Popshop Live, Philip co-founded Hugh & Crye, where he gained valuable experience in entrepreneurship and bootstrapping a company from its early beta stage to a multi-million dollar operation. As a digitally native vertical brand (DNVB), he managed all aspects of the business, including manufacturing, supply chain operations, product development, and eCommerce.Having experienced both a high-growth, venture-backed business and a bootstrapped, scrappy venture, Philip understands and appreciates the dynamics of both environments. He knows how to address the unique needs of companies in either context.In his free time, Philip enjoys meeting people from different walks of life and exploring new cultures. Growing up as a half-German, half-Hawaiian/Filipino, he experienced both sides of the Atlantic. He often felt part of his identity was invisible unless others inquired.
