Die reikte de onderscheiding uit tijdens het symposium Working together against child trafficking. Volgens Teeven wordt Veerman zowel in de wetenschappelijke wereld als onder professionals gewaardeerd. Translation: Psychologist Phillip Veerman has been appoined Officer of the Order of Orange Nassau because of his 40 years dedication to children's rights. "The amount of projects and programs you started or helped to start inside the country and outsie, I can hardly count" said the Secretary of State for Security and Justice Mr. F.Teeven. He presented the medal at the conference 'Working together against child trafficking'. According to Teeven the work of Veerman has been appreciated by scientists and practitioners.
