Studied the genomic causes, mechanisms and vulnerabilities of lung and brain cancers. Worked with well-established cell and molecular biology techniques, towards the development of new assays, and on patient-derived tumor xenograft models of disease. First-authored an article regarding microRNA involvement in pancreatic cancer.

I led a team researching tissue engineering of regenerative cardiac valves. I performed image analysis and feature extraction of MRI to develop physiologically accurate models of human organs. I developed technologies for 3-D printing of living cardiac valves. Two journal articles authored.

Consulted with a Team Master's Project designing a proprietary device for high-throughput bioassays. Provided engineering design process expertise and led research into alternative implementation methodologies using effective low-cost technologies. Proposed design revisions that were implemented in project Phase I proof-of-concept.

Member of a pilot global research program sponsored by Hewlett-Packard involving collaboration of student and faculty teams from Harvey Mudd College and the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. Developed models for and 3D simulations of microfluidic flow in roll-to-roll imprint lithography processes. Moderated communications and teleconferences between project teams and industry client liaisons.

Part of project team that demonstrated feasibility of a non-invasive, non-contact method of radio-frequency interrogation of the human thoracic cavity to obtain cardiac output measurements for applications in battlefield triage. Designed and conducted experimentation leading to the proof-of-concept and investigated optimization of signal processing algorithms. Analyzed technical requirements for full-scale project implementation and device design. Findings presented before the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology (CIMIT) in Boston, MA.
