Primary accountability for the strategy and execution of the 'social value' or ESG programs through Procurement across BHP’s Australian and South American mining assets.Highlights: - Strengthened BHP’s contribution to regional economies by growing total spend with local companies in Australia by 80% over 3 years, increasing from $1Bn to over $1.8bn annually. - Expanded BHP’s flagship Local Buying Program to Western Australia, South Australia and Chile to support the engagement of small regional businesses. - Led and implemented a revised Indigenous Contracting Strategy, achieving a three-fold increase in the number of Traditional Owner businesses engaged, and a doubling of direct spend from approximately $55M to more than $100M annually.

Reporting to the Head of Directional Studies, responsible for the management of technical studies and opportunity assessments for the Western Australian Iron Ore business to provide growth options, increase operating margins, or mitigate other business risks.Highlights:- Established a set of phased dust mitigation options to enable the Port Hedland operations to remain below dust exceedance levels that would enable government approvals for the growth of port throughput from 240Mtpa to 290Mtpa.- Developed a range of options to grow port capacity above 240Mtpa following the cancellation of the BHP Outer Harbour project. Options generated included a revised outer harbour design at 60% of the original project cost, smaller incremental growth options from new berth and ship loading infrastructure, and transhipment of ore using non-tide restricted barges.

Reporting to the Project Director Weld Range, and later the Chief Operating Officer, to manage iron ore project development options in the mid-west of Western Australia.Highlights: - Successfully developed the Blue Hills Iron Ore mine (2Mtpa), managing from studies to execution, including engineering, government and environmental approvals, review of commercial supplier agreements, financial analysis and presentation of an investment business case. - Led the development of an alternative investment case for the +$10Bn Oakajee Port and Rail development for the Sinosteel corporation. - Managed technical due diligence of the Crossroads Magnetite iron ore project

Strategy and cost reduction across a number of industries: - Strategy for an integrated Australian agribusiness following industry de-regulation - Business strategy for the seafood division of an Australian supermarket - Review of economics for the expansion program of an Australian Supermarket - Waste diagnostic that led to a national roll-out plan for $90M in annual cost reduction for a national retailer - Advised the Federal Government on the business model and governance for establishing the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute
