I am a professional multidisciplinary project engineer with experience in healthcare technology, manufacturing metrology and aerospace industries and I'm principally interested in innovation, new product design and product strategy.I'm currently managing technology research and product design projects in advanced metrology and automation for process improvement in manufacturing. This is based mostly vision and optical technologies including hardware and software.At Sagentia, I was involved in a range of medical and non-medical projects which include imaging, surgical tools, clinical radiotherapy, drug delivery, sample handling, refrigeration, liquid and gas systems, and consumer product design. I have a wide range of engineering interests: My DPhil research at Oxford involved the development of ultrasound image processing techniques and clinical hardware to infer the biomechanical properties of Achilles tendons as they heal from rupture. This has involved self-driven research, coordination with medical and engineering researchers. My work with Renishaw (2006-2009) gave me hands on experience and training in machine shop practice (milling and turning), mechanical CAD design (Unigraphics NX), automated machine tool metrology, implementation of enterprise management systems (Syteline) and production data analysis (Excel with VBA). This assisted me in fulfilling work to develop laser products using FEA/CFD software (ANSYS), create and maintain product test/construction/demonstration rigs, and aid our international sales and support subsidiaries as the primary engineering marketing contact for tool setting products. This marketing role also included assessment of new product development strategy, competitor analysis and supporting large scale order deals.My professional experience covers a wide range of skills and sectors, and I greatly enjoy exploring concepts where a cross pollination of ideas can reap technical or commercial benefits.
