In my most recent role I have been managing a Training/Sales department for Stroma. Stroma provide certification schemes and training courses for energy assessors working on domestic, commercial, new build properties. We represent the largest number of DEA, NDEA, OCDEA, DEC ACEA and Retrofit members working across the built environment industry, before they merged with Elmhurst Energy on 1st June 2023. I took the lead on everything, and ran the whole department on my own. From taking inbound calls, or emails and selling the benefits of the course and then on to being Accredited with the scheme to lodge work. I personally dealt with all the inbound bookings, I arranged the payment and invoice, I set the course up for a Trainer, inviting the candidates to the course. I sent out the pre-course email to candidates. I was the point of contact for all queries. My skills formed from an Administration point of view, are excellent, as I had to organise 8/10 people attending a course, and would often have 4 or 5 courses running at the same time. I was also the first point of contact for any complaints. I also had to create good working relationships with all the various course trainers, and would also support them all ensuring the course ran successfully. I also looked after bookings for very large clients such as Octopus Energy and Bailey Garner, who have very specific requirements for training, with large numbers attending on a monthly basis. Those large companies require one point of contact to trust and deliver on all their requirements. My role also consisted of being an Account manager of some of Stoma’s biggest clients, such as MLCS3. They will have several hundred employees lodging work under one company. I am there to support them as a business, and give a personal touch to their business needs, ensuring they are all met in a timely and professional manner. My professionalism, personality, drive and determination is what makes all of this a success. I will always go above and beyond in what I do, as I truly believe you get out of anything, what you put in. Prior to Covid, Stroma would generate around £17,000 per month on average for training. Conducting around 1 course per week. During Covid Lockdown, Stroma, almost overnight, converted all of our classroom based courses to online versions. We then began to teach 4 or 5 courses per week, every week from Lockdown to present. Often reaching around £100,000 per month brought in just from Training alone.
