Product Manager, Architecture Innovation Team (Prev Market Analysis Software Team)
Leadership of a team of data professionals, delivering solutions in ETL, data visualisation and app development. The Architecture Innovation Team deliver on the vision of TechInsights’ Chief Architect. Current projects include the harmonisation of Market Analysis data from TechInsights’ acquisition of Strategy Analytics, VLSI, SemiCo, Linley Group and IC Knowledge.
Research Director & Product Owner, Spectrax & Pricetrax
As Product Owner and Research Director for the TRAX databases I led the transition from online database to cutting edge analytics toolkit for mobile devices. Successes include: integrating multiple big datasets, the application of Machine Learning to automated forecasting and working with developers to create attractive and useful visualisations that quickly answer specific research questions for us and our clients. My aim with the TRAX products was to make overwhelming smartphone datasets (pricing and specifications) user friendly, providing real tactical and strategic insight. Agile development with experts in SQL, data visualisation, machine learning, web-scraping and industry meant I could respond quickly to client, prospect and colleague requests. As Research Director I advocated for the TRAX products, liaising with colleagues, clients and prospects from desk to C-Suite. I was always more than happy to receive challenging questions, stretching our data to its limit and on the lookout to incorporate even more data into the visualisations.
Projects Director, Spectrax & Pricetrax
As Projects Director I expanded the visualisation and presentation of the ever growing warehouse of device specifications and pricing data for SpecTRAX & PriceTRAX. New tools meant data could be presented in different ways and client requests became more and more granular. Working closely with my counterparts in Digitial Innovation and the TRAX team, we developed metrics, new methods for presenting data, more detailed webscraping scripts and harvested more data than ever before.
Database Projects Manager
I was promoted to the role of Projects Manager for the TRAX databases to run bespoke research requests on behalf of top smartphone brands. During my time as an analyst I had built a thorough understanding and appreciation for the TRAX databases, the questions they could answer and how this applied to industry: translating real world data into business insight and intelligence through understanding pricing and technology trends around the world. A major aspect of my role involved making vast amounts of data accessible to clients and consumable by the general public. Projects were often presented with a limited brief or disparate KPIs. Through collaboration, projects were designed with clear end points in mind. Often results were scrutinised by independent third parties prior to use in the public domain as marketing assets or in litigation.
Analyst, Spectrax & Pricetrax
I was employed as an analyst working on the newly launched PriceTRAX service. Data was collected through webscraping and made available for clients to download in Excel. The service was developed due to repeat requests from SpecTRAX clients to have access to retail pricing. The problem was, there was so much retail pricing available and it was difficult to analyse. My expertise in Excel meant I could provide clients with custom deliverables and fast turnaround analytics. I developed good relationships through the inquiry service and provided high quality spreadsheets and analysis.
Cso
I launched The Phlebotomy Clinic Ltd in 2009 after working as a self-employed scientist and phlebotomist within the private healthcare sector. On completion of Adult Nurse training, I was able to expand the scope of the business into the NHS (through NHS Professionals). I worked as an RN in Theatres, Accident & Emergency, Occupational Health and as a general nurse across the hospital. This qualification gave a thorough grounding in UK healthcare practice.Through visionary leadership I developed a UK wide stem cell procurement service employing over 50 healthcare professionals. I forged strong links with private laboratories and healthcare providers, managing high profile clients, the general public and clinicians, delivering a service that was second-to-none. I provided consultative services to the Human Tissue Authority, negotiating business contracts in line with UK Law (specifically pertaining to the Human Tissue Authority Guidelines) including; Service Level and Third Party Agreements, Terms of Business etc.The business was closed in 2011 following contract changes with the NHS and other customers. Staff were moved to an alternative agency prior to closing down operations. On closure, I chose to apply my data analysis skills in an industry with a better work/life balance.
Study Director
As Study Director for BioDynamics I formed close working relationships with sponsors who commissioned my projects within a contract research environment. My studies focused on the discovery and development of new chemical entities for the treatment of human disease. Core to my role was the mathematical modeling and presentation of study results; determining drug profiles and predicting their action within disease processes and real-life patients. The application of mathematical principles to biological processes was of significant interest to me, as was patient/study participant psychology. I worked under the auspice of the Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and to the principles of Good Laboratory/Clinical Practice, meaning all my work was subject to rigorous review and external audit by government agencies.
Pharmacologist
I worked on a number of high profile projects at Vertex as a Research Scientist. Vertex sought to employ me after I worked as their client interface at a contract research facility. Integral duties included study design (power analysis), data collection, interpretation (statistical significance, modeling), reporting, and presentation.
