• Leading DWP's overall financial strategy and planning activities for a business with an operating budget of over £6bn and 75,000 employees• Board level performance reporting and investment decision advice to Department executives and Ministers • Implementing the financial outcomes pf the 2015 Spending Review and co-ordinating the department’s contribution to Government wide fiscal events.• Ownership of the department’s planning, governance and risk management frameworks • Maintaining the Department’s relationship with HM Treasury, Cabinet Office, the Office for Budget Responsibility and the NAO.• Providing effective leadership to a directorate of around 160 employees across multiple UK locations

• Overall leadership of DWP’s input to major fiscal events and advising Ministers and the Executive Team on spending strategy and financial management• Responsible for oversight of the Department’s DEL and AME planning and for providing a mature challenge function to ensure value for money and performance criteria are met• Working level lead for the HM Treasury liaison
